SSB(Service Selection Board)EXAM INFORMATION




SSB(Service Selection Board) Interview Procedure(SSB Tips):-

The Candidates are called via “Call Letters” to appear in 5 days Tests at SSB ( Allahabad / Bhopal / Bangalore / Varanasi/ Mysore /  Dehradun ).


Type of Tests :-

    1.    Screening Test
    2.    Psychological Test
    3.    Interview
    4.    Group Testing Officers (GTO) Test

 Screening Test (First Day):-


After filling  certain Forms and also the Bio Data forms known as “PIQ(personal identifition question) ,the candidates will undergo two types of tests as follows:-
    1)  Verbal and Non-Verbal Tests.
    2) Picture perception and discussion test(ppdt)

N.B:-  After the Screening Test is over, the results are declared within 1 hour. Those who clear the test are required to stay back for the next 4 days and the remaining candidates are returned back at the Railway Station for their return journey.

Psychological Test (Second day):-

It combines in four parts these are as follows:
    1.    Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)
    2.    Word Association Test (WAT)
    3.    Situation Reaction Test (SRT)
    4.    Self Description Test (SDT)

What is TAT:-It Is very effective technique used by the psychologist in order to examine three aspects of psychology( perception, cognition and behavior).


Rules:- 
    1.    Time duration is 60 min.
    2.    Picture will be shown for 30 sec and 4 min for writing the story.
    3.    11 slides(picture) and one blank slide


What is WAT:- Word association Test is test used by the psychologist in order to judge one’s personality. It proves very effective in determining the emotional feelings and attitude of the candidate.

Rules:-
   1.    Time duration is 15 min & 15 sec.
   2.    60 words are shown one by one.
   3.    Making sentences for each word is fifteen seconds.

What is SRT:-It is known as test of one’s common sense. In Situation reaction test the candidate gives his or her prompt reaction for a given situation. The reaction of the candidate reveals the overall personality of the candidate and helps the psychologist in evaluating the candidate.

Rules:-
  1.    Total time duration is 30 min.
  2.    Time duration for solving each problem is 30 sec.
  3.    Sixty situations are given to the candidates.


What is SDT:-Based on the above test i.e.(TAT,WAT,SRT)the gets the confirmation of the assessed personality and fair insight of the particular candidate.

Rules:-
   •    Total time duration is 15

N.B:-  Interview : (Held during afternoon/evening hours either 2nd/3rd/4th day)


      Group Testing Officers (GTO) Test (Third and Fourth day):-

        This includes the following:-
           1.    Group discussion(GD)
           2.    Group Planning Exercise ( known as Military Planning Exercise)
           3.    Progressive Group Tasks(PGT)
           4.    Half Group Tasks(HGT)
           5.    Individual Obstacles
           6.    Group Obstacles Race
           7.    Command Task
           8.    Lecturette
           9.    Final Group Task(FGT)

Conference(Fifth day):-

   This Includes the following:-
         1.    Closing address.
         2.    Conference.
         3.    Declaration of results.
         4.    Dispersal.
